Sol de Janeiro Flor Mística Le Perfume Mist

In its bright pink vessel, this is summer, bottled. Part of the Limited Edition Cheirosa Perfume Mists that also includes Sol de Janeiro Limited Edition Danca Mistica Perfume Mist, £24.00 and Sol de Janeiro Limited Edition Agua Mistica Perfume Mist, £24.00, it’s attention grabbing from the off. Full of coconut water, palm leaf and orange blossom flower that gives it a tropical twist, it will immediately transport you to the beach. The white rose petals, Brazilian gardenia and flamingo flower also give the mist a soft and delicate floral quality that appears once the scent has settled on the skin.

“Out of the trio of new scents this was probably the most popular in the Space NK office. With an aroma not too dissimilar from those comforting sun creams from yesteryear, everyone said it reminded them of holidaying in the Balearics. A happy, feel-good fragrance,” says Becci.

Sol de Janeiro Água Mística Le Perfume Mist

• Key notes: Neroli water, tangerine and salty skin

A fruit cocktail of white pineapple and tangerine, this juicy little number is also blended with the citrusy-scented neroli and a salty skin accord. Guaranteed to be a mood booster (citrus fragrances are known for it), the peony and jasmine give it a feminine edge that marries perfectly with the fresh aquatic top notes.

“So refreshing, this is a thirst quencher for your senses," reveals Becci. "Fruity but not sickly, it’s really wearable and is summer spritzer that feels fitting for beach bags and gym kits when you want a perfume pick-me-up. Definitely the fruitiest of the three new scents.”

Sol de Janeiro Dança Mística Le Perfume Mist

• Key notes: Fig, vanilla and sandalwood

A ‘greener’ scent to match the bottle, this combines fig, pear, amber and sandalwood to create a cosy, comforting aroma. The vanilla isn’t overpowering but as the fragrance settles on the skin it starts to creep through creating those characteristic Sol vibes we know and love.

“This probably sways most from Sol de Janeiro’s usual scents as the fig, sandalwood and amber gives it an underlying warmth and an almost musky finish. If is sunrise, this is most definitely sunset. Sultry and perfect for balmy summer evenings,” says Becci.

Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa '68 Perfume Mist

• Key notes: Pink dragon fruit, lychee and Brazilian jasmine

If you’ve used any of the brand’s Beija Flor formulas, including Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Elasti-Cream, £21.00, you’ll have experienced the Cheirosa '68 perfume already. It is easily the fruitiest floral scent in Sol de Janeiro’s fragrance line, Cheirosa '68 as a freshness to it thanks to the addition of the ocean air note blended with pink dragonfruit, lychee and jasmine.

“This is such a happy, uplifting floral scent,” says Dotty Daniel, Space NK's quality and training manager. “Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa '68 perfume smells like a field of fresh daisies in full bloom. It is one of the loveliest day-time fragrances in my opinion.”

Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa '62 Perfume Mist

• Fragrance: Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa '62 Perfume Mist, £24.00

• Key notes: Pistachio, salted caramel and vanilla

We had to start with the OG Sol de Janeiro perfume. If you’re a fan of Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, £21.00, you’ll be well-acquainted with this iconic scent. “It is pure holiday vibes,” says Dotty. “My daughter and I had a mini bottle of this from a Sol de Janeiro travel set and let me tell you, this works so well as a holiday perfume.”

While the vanilla and salted caramel might make you think this fragrance will be incredibly sweet, the almond and sandalwood notes give it a warmth and smoothness that will take you back to applying SPF on the beach. It’s the kind of scent that you keep going back to for one more sniff.

Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa '59 Perfume Mist

• Fragrance: Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 59 Perfume Mist, £24.00

• Key notes: Plum, vanilla orchid, sandalwood and vetivert

This is potentially Sol de Janeiro's most grown-up perfume mist and was launched at the same time as the Sol de Janeiro Delicia Drench Body Butter, £21.00, which we highly recommend investing in if your skin is feeling dry right now! The fragrance has more of a white floral feel with the vanilla orchid, but there is still a slight sweetness thanks to the sugared violet and plum notes.

"I love this scent - it's grown-up and sophisticated, and I would definitely wear it as an evening scent," says Dotty.

Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa '40 Perfume Mist

• Key notes: Jasmine, crème de cassis, Brazilian orchid and vanilla

This is the Bom Dia fragrance, so if you want to keep the feel-good scent of alive all day, this one’s for you. Vanilla is the main note, but there’s definitely a strong floral intake as the scent dries down. “There’s a waterfall in Lucia and at the bottom you find these beautiful pink flowers and Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa '40 takes me there. It’s a truly special scent,” Dotty tells us.

Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa '71 Perfume Mist

Sol de Janeiro isn’t a brand to shy away from gourmand fragrances and you can almost taste the coconut cake in Cheirosa '71.

“This perfume mist reminds me of popcorn,” Dotty says instantly after sniffing the Cheirosa '71 scent. “It’s the perfect first fragrance for a teenager to spray all over. It’s fun, it smells good and it’s youthful.”

Sol de Janeiro Rio Radiance Perfume Mist

• Key notes: Tuberose, ylang ylang and vanilla

If you like warm, white floral scents, your will love the Rio Radiance Perfume Mist. Tuberose and ylang ylang take centre stage with hints of creamy vanilla and coconut milk coming through without making the scent overly sweet. The amber base gives this Sol de Janeiro perfume an elegant finish too.

“For me, it’s giving high-powered businesswoman in a tweed suit and pearls,” says Dotty. “Sol de Janeiro Rio Radiance perfume smells expensive.” Dotty went as far as to say it reminded her of one of the most iconic fragrances of all time…

Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 76 Perfume Mist

Formerly known as After Hours, Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 76 perfume mist received some serious love on TikTok and Dotty loved the heady white floral notes: “It was right up my street,” Dotty tells us. “It smelt very luxurious and sexy. I loved the packaging too.” It wasn't dissimilar to a certain bestselling perfume in a blue jagged crystal bottle.
