Violetta's Medik8 Advanced Pro-Collagen Peptide Cream Review

Violetta's Medik8 Advanced Pro-Collagen Peptide Cream Review

I’ve got combination skin that can be very temperamental –  breakouts triggered by stress, hormones, or even the wrong moisturiser. In the morning, I keep things simple with serum and sunscreen, but at night I always finish with a cream. And because I love high-tech formulas (give me all the peptides, growth factors, and exosomes!), I was so excited to try the Advanced Pro Collagen+ Peptide Cream.

First impression? It’s super hydrating without feeling heavy. It layered perfectly over my other skincare, with no pilling at all, which is rare. I started experimenting around with it: morning and night, under make-up, and even as a base for my Gua Sha. It’s actually amazing for a facial massage because it has that perfect slip, your skin takes time to drink it in, but it never feels sticky, just smooth and hydrated.

And as for whether it broke me out, the answer is thankfully no! It didn’t stop my hormonal spots (although that’s not its job), but it definitely didn’t make things worse. Instead, my skin feels soft, hydrated, and smoother overall. Fine lines look less noticeable, and there’s this subtle glow that makes my skin look healthier even without makeup.

All in all, I’m into the new Medik8 cream. It plays well with everything else in my routine, delivers on hydration and glow, and I’m curious to see what long-term results will bring, as it’s definitely staying in my lineup.

Vanessa's Medik8 Advanced Pro-Collagen Peptide Cream Review

Vanessa's Medik8 Advanced Pro-Collagen Peptide Cream Review

Despite my skin being oily, it does tend to get dehydrated (especially in the cooler months), so I’m always drawn to rich textures. I have a few moisturisers I swear by, but I’m always open to new favourites, so I jumped at the chance to try the brand’s latest launch!

I incorporated it into my morning routine and instantly felt like my complexion looked happy, healthy, and a little luminous. The texture felt rich and pleasant without ever feeling heavy, and I also love that it claims to support collagen production, as you’ll normally find me sipping on collagen supplements to reap its plumping benefits!

My only critique is that I did encounter some pilling once or twice. It might be because I applied a bit too much on those occasions, but I’m still figuring out a skincare and makeup routine that works well with it.

Pilling issues aside, I think it’s a lovely, hydrating moisturiser. It won’t become a permanent fixture in my morning routine due to the pilling (and it won’t be replacing my precious collagen supplements!), but I’ll be trying it in my nighttime routine instead – I think it could pair nicely with active ingredients. Overall, if you have oily skin like me, you might not love this moisturiser, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to those with balanced or dry skin.

The Verdict On Medik8 Advanced Pro-Collagen Peptide Cream

Overall, the new Medik8 Advanced Pro Collagen+ Peptide Cream impressed our reviewers when it came to hydration, reducing the appearance of fine lines, and boosting their complexion with a subtle, healthy glow.

THE PROS: Both reviewers agreed that the texture of the face cream felt rich and super hydrating. They also noticed a visible improvement in fine lines and signs of skin ageing, and confirmed it was safe to use on acne-prone skin.

THE CONS: If, like Vanessa, you have oilier skin, you may need to apply sparingly or go through some trial and error when combining the cream with your other skincare products, to avoid pilling.
