GRITTY
Very disappointed in this product, as an other reviewer stated it’s gritty and who wants an uncomfortable lip balm I didn’t feel it was spreading onto my lips so didn’t feel protected from the elements I contacted Aesop about it they said that’s the way the product is! They said: “ The base of the Protective Lip Balm SPF30 is comprised of a range of botanical oils and waxes, all with varying melting points. Each individual oil melts and resolidifies at a different temperature, leading to the texture you have experienced… To overcome this, we recommend rubbing the product on the back of your hand for 5-10 seconds prior to use. This application of heat should soften the balm and help to even the texture” how ridiculous ! Definitely don’t recommend unless you’re in a hot climate where it’ll melt!
SPF lip balm in a stick
I’ve been wanting a stick lip balm with sof for ages. It seems like there are lots of spf glosses with colour, or products in tubes and tubs but I just wanted something that was easy to apply with no colour or finish. This fits the bill and I used it for my holiday with no burning! It is a little gritty but in a pleasant exfoliating way. Not the most moisturising product but fits the bill for me.

I love this lip balm, so many now come in a tube which is difficult to apply in a rush, so this is great one to keep in a pocket. It moisturises really well, stays on - no need to constantly apply like some balms and this has sun protected too. The scent is subtle. A great simple balm.

I was looking for an spf lip balm as I have recently been suffering with horribly dry lips and wondered if it could be sun burn. This lip balm has worked so well! If you feel like you've tried everything for chronic dry lips I would definitely give this a go! There are definitely cheaper spf lip balms but if you're an Aesop scent fan this is really good

It surprises me that so many lip balms don't have SPF protection so when I find one that does, I am very happy. Yes, this is a little on the pricey side but it's a lovely product, creamy and easy to apply, and the tube is handy to carry around and makes application hygienic.
