Like the majority of us, she’s at-home and is currently tweaking her day-to-day routine. Here, Lily shares a day in her life during the lockdown, including nap times and beauty pit-stops…
8am: My Mum-friendly Makeup Routine…
Grey usually has her morning nap around this time, so I like to quickly do my makeup before I go downstairs for some breakfast. Makeup always makes me feel so much better and I really enjoy applying it. I usually focus on making my skin look dewy and bright.
Step 1: Glow-Boosting Base
For this, I love to start with Nars Tinted Glow Booster – it just adds such a gorgeous glow and works as a good base. All you need is two pumps to work into your skin. When I want to be super quick with my makeup, I opt for Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturiser as it offers light-to-medium coverage. I dot it on and then blend in with a brush.
Step 2: Speedy Brow Shaping
I’ll add a light dusting of blusher and bronzer to warm up my skin, before I shape my brows with Nars Brow Perfector. It’s a really nice fine pencil and I use it to fill in the front and build up the arch. Remember your brows are sisters not twins.
Step 3: A Pop Of Eyeshadow
Although I never have much time, I do like to put a little bit of eye makeup on because it always helps lift my mood. Charlotte Tilbury’s Eye Quad in Pillow Talk is my absolute favourite – I love the lipstick as well – has four really lovely pinky eyeshadow shades. I use the lightest hue and just gently sweep it across my eyelids. I’ll finish with mascara and my eyes are done.
9.30am: Creative Playtime
To keep Grey entertained, I’ve been trying out a few online baby classes. There’s quite a lot around at the moment, so it’s worth trying some out. We also play with her toys. I’ve been a little bit creative recently and filled up some coloured balloons with water. She loves them because they’re squishy and they make a funny noise.
1pm: My Working Lunch Break
When Grey goes down for her lunchtime nap, I use that time to have lunch and catch-up on some work. Aside from food, my deskside essentials include my laptop, my daily planner, a drink and a couple of beauty essentials. My hands have been incredibly dry recently from washing my hands so much. I really rate Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve – it leaves hands feeling soft. I have a little bit of eczema on my hands and this formula is perfect. For a little skincare pick-me-up, I love to spritz May Lindstrom’s Jasmine Garden Botanical Facial Mist. The scent is so calming and it feels amazing on my skin.
3pm: Afternoon Play
When Grey gets up from her nap, it’s usually time for more play. We bought her a mini ball pit recently and she loves it.
7pm: My Evening Skincare Routine
With dinner, bath, bottle and bedtime done, I’m always ready for a little bit of me-time. I like to take off my makeup, put on lots of lovely skincare and take a relaxing bath. To cleanse my skin, I’m currently loving Elemis’ Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. Once you work it into your skin the balm turns into an oil and removes your makeup, including mascara. It’s my favourite way to take off the day because it feels so luxurious on your skin.
The next step is Drunk Elephant’s F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Hydrating Mask. You can leave it on overnight and I just find it really hydrates the skin and leaves it feeling soft and plump in the morning.
7.15pm: And, Relax…
I like to enjoy a relaxing, warm bath as my face mask sinks in. Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Mind Shower & Bath Oil is incredible. I put a cap full into the bath and it just really relaxes me. Aesop’s Geranium Body Scrub is another bathing essential for me. It makes my skin so, so smooth.
