Does what it says
Smooth, gel like, calming and hydrating. Someone reviewed that it’s oily and it absolutely isn’t! Im a guy with combination skin and an oily TZone and this works perfectly for me. Keeps my cheeks looking plump and hydrated. Works really well under eye for concealer too to prevent drying and cracking.

Oily not hydrating
I got a sample in store (along with the perfecting primer) as I was trying to find a cheaper alternative to the Kevyn Aucoin primer that is now £47 (for a tiny tube) and no longer sold at Space NK. I ended up repurchasing the KA. I found I felt greasy as the day went on and I had to use a tissue to blot my skin. My pores looked even more obvious by the late afternoon. I was disappointed in this as many years ago I used to use a Laura Mercier primer that worked really well (hence I thought I would head back to it). I was disappointed and would not purchase this. I don't even use the rest of the free sample. On the positive side: no irritation, did not feel heavy, no pilling.

Great to try this product
I love Laura Marcie’s primers. Have been a long term fan of the spf version and the illuminating version. My skin is a bit prone to dry patches and this primer has been a real hit. I’m using a 50/50 with the illuminating. It would be great to see sun protection as standard across this range.

Lovely Finish
I received a small sample of this primer and really enjoyed it. It applied and absorbed easily on my skin, my skin felt nicely hydrated. It’s a good base for make-up as it didn’t pill like other primers I’ve tried. There were no dry patches and my skin looked very even. There is no strong scent which I liked! Highly recommend.

Great, works well with makeup on top
I was given this product to review, but I had already tried out various Laura Mercier primers in the past - the brand has a well-deserved reputation for making the best primers. This is just great, feels lovely and smooth and hydrating to apply. I wore it with tinted moisturiser or light foundation on top, no issues with pilling at all and make up definitely lasted longer on the days I was wearing it. It just evens up the skin really well so dry patches aren't an issue.
